The next tier of digital music services
Since I was back on Compete.com for my last post, I thought I’d do an update on the “digital music rankings” that I was doing a couple of years back. So the top 5 overall (linked from my last post) are as follows:

Myspace buys imeem
Myspace, which is supposedly doubling down on content over its role as a social network, is reported to be in late-stage discussions to acquire imeem, only a quarter after picking up iLike. imeem has long been seeking a buyer given the tough economics of an ad-based on-demand music service.
